Reading V The Toon: Tips Round-Up

My Tips For Reading V Newcastle United: Round-Up

As previously explained every match I give myself 100 points to place a few hypothetical bets on Newcastle and 100 points to place a few hypothetical general football bets using the odds available from OLBG.com.  I then compare how the sets of bets performed and analyse whether it's better to bet with your heart or your head.  This is how my bets performed over the weekend...

Bets on Newcastle...
Full Time Result:
50 points on Newcastle at 2.5 - LOSS
Unfortunately we haven't really recaptured last season's form yet and could only manage a point against Reading.

First Goalscorer:
20 points on Demba Ba at 7.5 - LOSS
Demba kept his excellent goal-scoring start to the season going, but sadly not before Jimmy Kebe had already opened the scoring for Reading.

To Score In Both Halves:
30 points on Newcastle at 3.5 - LOSS

Making an overall loss of 100 points.

This is how I did with my other football bets...
Man United V Spurs - Full Time Result:
15 points on Draw at 4.33 - LOSS

Barnsley V Ipswich - Full Time Result:
30 points on Barnsley at 2.5 - LOSS

Bournemouth V Walsall - Full Time Result:
15 points on Walsall at 5.0 - WIN 75 points

Brighton V Birmingham - Full Tiume Result:
10 points on Brighton at 1.83 - LOSS

Huddersfield V Watford - Full Tiume Result:
10 points on Huddersfield at 2.1 - LOSS

Wolves V Sheff Wed - Full Tiume Result:
10 points on Wolves at 1.9 - WIN 19 points

Burnley V Millwall - Full Tiume Result:
10 points on Burnley at 2.0 - LOSS

Making an overall return of 94 points from 100 points and an overall loss of 6 points.

This week was a bad week all round but my Newcastle bets are still edging out my general football bets so the heart is still out-performing the head:
Newcastle Tips: 2
General Football Tips: 1

As it's hard to know exactly what team Pardew will put out against Bordeaux, I'm going to skip the match on Thursday and make my next set of tips before the Man U match on Sunday.

. . . . . . . .

Disclaimer:  A small bet can make a football match more exciting but the unpredictable nature of football mean that having a large bet is just stupid.  Gambling can be a risky business so never bet more than you can afford to lose.  The safest way to bet is with points rather than pounds, so if you'd like the chance to gamble risk-free with points for the chance to win cash prizes then a website worth visiting is OLBG.com.  It's free to sign up and they offer cash prizes for the most successful punters in various sporting categories.  If you'd like to check it out then click on the link below:
