Spurs V The Toon: Tips Round-Up

My Tips For Tottenham Hotspur V Newcastle United: Round-Up

Every match I give myself 100 points to place a few hypothetical bets on Newcastle and 100 points to place a few general football bets using the odds available from SkyBet.com.  I then compare how the two sets of bets perform and analyse whether it's better to bet with your heart or your head.

It was disappointing not to come away with anything from the Spurs game, but if you'd offered us six points from Villa, Chelsea and Tottenham I would have readily taken it.  And despite the defeat, our performance suggests we should hopefully be looking up the table from now on rather than down.

Anyway, when it comes to betting, on recent form it's looking like it's far wiser to bet with your head rather than your heart as the defeat at Spurs meant my Toon tips were a washout this week, while for the fifth week running my general football tips returned a profit:

Stoke V Reading - Match Result:
15 points on Reading at 4.2 - LOSS

Swansea v QPR - Match Result:
20 points on Draw at 3.6 - LOSS

Man United V Everton - Match Result & Both Teams To Score:
20 points on Man United To Win and Both Team To Score at 3.1 - LOSS

Liverpool V West Brom - Handicap Betting (-2):
15 points on Liverpool -2 at 3.75 - LOSS

Middlesbrough V Barnsley - Match Result:
15 points on Barnsley at 4.33 - WIN 65 points

Oxford V Bristol Rovers - Match Result:
15 points at Bristol Rovers at 4.2 - WIN 63 points

Making an overall return of 128 points and therefore a profit of 28 points.

A strong run of form for my general football tips means that the current head to head totals for the two sets of tips currently stand at:

Newcastle tips - 9.5
General football tips -12.5

It's tricky to predict what sort of team Alan Pardew will put out for the Europe League matches, so I'm going to skip the Metalist Kharkiv double header and make my next set of tips next week for the home game against Southampton a week on Sunday.

Disclaimer:  A small bet can make the match more exciting but gambling can be a risky business so never bet more than you can afford to lose.  The safest way to bet is with a free bet, so if you'd like the chance to claim a totally free £10 bet then sign up to SkyBet today using the banner link below:
