...And Odds For The Toon V Arsenal
So in the end it was Wigan who claimed the third and final relegation spot, and although the mackems would obviously have been our first choice, it's safe to say that few Newcastle fans will be disappointed to see Wigan making the drop.
The end of a season that most Toon fans will want to quickly forget sees us come up against an Arsenal side who need three points to ensure a Champions League spot.
SkyBet have the match priced as follows:
Newcastle - 6.0
Draw - 4.0
Arsenal - 1.53
With the exception of the QPR game, we've struggled to score goals recently, so it's perhaps not surprising to see the first goalscorer betting dominated by Arsenal players:
1st Goalscorer | To Score In 90 Mins | |
Theo Walcott | 5.5 | 2.1 |
Olivier Giroud | 6.0 | 2.2 |
Lukas Podolski | 6.0 | 2.38 |
Gervinho | 7.0 | 2.75 |
Santo Cazorla | 7.5 | 3.0 |
Papiss Cisse | 8.5 | 3.0 |
Hatem Ben Arfa | 11.0 | 4.5 |
And if Alan Pardew happens to be reading this blog then he can get odds of 23.0 on Arsenal to beat us 4-0. The odds for us to beat Arsenal 4-0 are 201.0, while a repeat of the 4-4 from a couple of seasons ago is likewise priced at 201.0.
