My Tips For Norwich City V Newcastle United: Round-Up
Every match I give myself 100 points to
place a few hypothetical bets on Newcastle and 100 points to place a few
general football bets using the odds available from SkyBet.com. I
then compare how the two sets of bets perform and analyse whether it's better
to bet with your heart or your head.
It was a mixed week for my tips, with my general football tips making a reasonable profit, while an uneventful nil nil draw at Norwich put paid to most, but not all, of my Toon predictions...
Match Result:
20 points on Draw at 3.4 - WIN 68 points
This was a performance with very few positives, but luckily Norwich were equally as poor and so thankfully we managed to end our run of away defeats with a point which could prove valuable later in the season.
Time Of 1st Goal:
30 points on Time of First Goal - 0-10 Minutes at 3.75 - LOSS
Chances were few and far between, never mind goals, so this bet proved to be way off the mark.
Both Teams To Score:
30 points on Both Teams To Score - Yes at 1.57 - LOSS
This was our first clean sheet since QPR at home a few weeks ago, but unfortunately for the first time in nine league games we also failed to score.
Team Bets:
20 points on Both Teams To Score In 2nd Half at 3.0 - LOSS
Making an overall return of 68 points from 100 points and therefore an overall loss of 32 points.

25 points on Swansea or Draw at 2.25 - WIN 56 points
Arsenal V Man City - Match Result:
20 points on Arsenal at 2.5 - LOSS
Man U V Liverpool - Match Result & Both Teams To Score:
20 points on Man U To Win And Both Teams To Score at 3.25 - WIN 65 points
Aston Villa V Southampton - Match Result:
15 points on Draw at 3.4 - LOSS
Colchester V Scunthorpe - Match Result:
20 points on Scunthorpe at 3.1 - WIN 62 points
Making an overall return of 183 points from 100 points and therefore an overall profit of 83 points.
My Toon tips remain slightly ahead of my general football tips in the running head to head totals, but on current form you would have to say it's probably best to bet with your head rather than your heart:
