Newcastle United V Everton (02/01/13)

My Tips For The Toon V Everton

Every match I give myself 100 points to place a few hypothetical bets on Newcastle and 100 points to place a few general football bets using the odds available from SkyBet.com.  I then compare how the two sets of bets perform and analyse whether it's better to bet with your heart or your head.

Here are my tips for The Toon V Everton...

Match Result:
20 points on Draw at 3.3
Our performances against Man U and Arsenal highlighted signs for optimism going forward but big concerns defensively, so I'm going to cautiously go for a draw against Everton.  Admittedly, it's been a while since our last league draw, but Everton have been the draw specialists this season with 9 draws from their 20 league matches and 4 draws from their last 8 matches.

Team Bets:
30 points on Both Teams To Score In 2nd Half at 2.88
6 of our last 9 league matches have seen both teams score in the second half.

Both Teams To Score:
20 points on Both Teams To Score - Yes at 1.57
Everton have scored in their last 17 league games, and also conceded in each of their last 15.

Team Bets:
10 points on both teams to score in both halves at 13.0

Goals:
10 points on Newcastle to score 2+ goals at 2.25

Half Time Result:
10 points on Draw at 2.25

And to see if it's wiser to bet with your head or your heart, here are my general football tips...

Wigan V Man U - Match Result & Both Teams To Score:
20 points on Man U To Win And Both Teams To Score at 2.88

Man City V Stoke - Double Chance:
15 points on Stoke or Draw at 3.75

West Ham V Norwich - Match Result:
15 points on Norwich at 3.4

Ipswich V Brighton - Match Result:
20 points on Ipswich at 2.5

Leicester V Huddersfield - Match Result:
15 points on Draw at 4.2

Brentford V Bournemouth - Match Result:
15 points on Draw at 3.5

I'll check back after the weekend to see how my tips perform.

Footnote: One interesting market is the 'Premier League Without The Top Six' market (Man U, Man City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs and Liverpool(?)).  Stoke are currently 8th and unbeaten in their last 10 league games, so at odds of 15.0 they could be worth a small speculative punt.

Disclaimer:  A small bet can make the match more exciting but gambling can be a risky business so never bet more than you can afford to lose.  The safest way to bet is with a free bet, so if you'd like the chance to claim a totally free £10 bet then sign up to SkyBet today using the banner link below:
