The Toon V Swansea: Tips Round-Up

Newcastle United V Swansea City Round-Up

Every match I give myself 100 points to place a few hypothetical bets on Newcastle and 100 points to place a few general football bets using the odds available from SkyBet.com.  I then compare how the two sets of bets perform and analyse whether it's better to bet with your heart or your head.

Another disappointing result for the Toon resulted in another loss-making week for my Newcastle tips.  My general football tips made a profit for the 4th week running but that was little consolation.

This is how things turned out…

Full Time Result:
10 points on Newcastle at 1.83 - LOSS
Unfortunately we did little to justify our pre-match pricing as odds on favourites.

Both Teams To Score:
30 points on Both Teams To Score - Yes at 1.73 – WIN 52 points
It was a long time coming, but a late injury time consolation goal for Demba Ba ensured that the run of games without a clean sheet continued for both teams.

Under/Over 2.5 Goals:
20 points on Over 2.5 Goals at 1.80 – WIN 36 points

Double Chance:
20 points on Newcastle Or Draw at 1.25 - LOSS

Half With Most Goals:
10 points on First Half at 3.0 - LOSS

Half Time Result:
10 points on Newcastle at 2.38 - LOSS

Making an overall return of 88 points from 100 points and therefore an overall loss of 12 points.

My general football tips made it four profitable weeks in a row thanks to wins for West Brom, Norwich and Crystal Palace...

Arsenal v Tottenham - Full Time Result:
15 points on Draw at 3.75 - LOSS

West Brom V Chelsea - Full Time Result:
15 points on West Brom at 3.75 – WIN 56 points

Norwich V Man U - Double Chance:
20 points on Norwich Or Draw at 2.63 – WIN 53 points

Liverpool V Wigan - Double Chance:
20 points on Wigan Or Draw at 2.63 – LOSS

Crystal Palace v Derby - Full Time Result:
30 points on Crystal Palace at 1.91 – WIN 57 points

Making an overall return of 166 points from 100 points and therefore an overall profit of 66 points.

Until a couple of weeks ago my Newcastle tips were on a decent run, so since this blog started my Newcastle tips have still had more success than my general football tips.  However, a run of four consecutive profitable weeks for my general football tips has seen the gap become closer.  The running totals in the head to head currently stand at:

Newcastle tips – 5
General football tips – 4

Once again I'll be skipping the Europa League match against Maritimo on Thursday and posting my tips on Tuesday for the Southampton game next Sunday.
